If you find yourself in Chicago, IL, make a stop at one of the largest natural history museums in the world: the Field Museum. I would recommend you allot at least 4 hours for this natural history museum as there is a lot to see and do here. This is one of the most comprehensive and interactive natural history museums I have ever seen. I would also recommend starting at the top level and working your way down as it is somewhat laid out in historical chronological order that way. The Field Museum is a great place for kids as well. Don't miss this spot. It's definitely a must-do in the list of things to do in Chicago, IL.
